Is your router compatible with your ISP?
Check with your Internet Service Provider for a listing of routers
they employ for wireless networks.
Is your computer WiFi enabled?
- Click the Start button?
- Right click on My Computer
- From the menu that appears, select Properties
- In the box that opens, select the Hardware tab
- In the Hardware window, click Device Manager
- Scroll down the list of services installed on the computer until you come to
Network adaptors
- Click the little "+" sign to the left of the words Network adaptors to expand the contents
- Look for an adaptor labeled "wireless" or "802.11"
- If there is no wireless adaptor listed, you will need to get one.
Some computers use a PCMI slot. A flat looking card that fits in to a slot on the lap top somewhere.
A computer with a USB port can use a USB type adaptor. These plug in to a USB port and have a cord that allows
you to place the receiver for better reception.
