Configuring the WGT624v2 for 108 Mbps Dynamic Mode

To get 108 Mbps Dynamic Mode with the WGT624v2 Wireless Firewall Router, use one of these NETGEAR wireless adapters. Upgrade the router and adapters to the latest firmware:

  • WG511T — 802.11g
  • WG311T — 802.11g
  • Wireless Adapters — 802.11g. 802.11b

 

 

To Configure the WGT624v2 Router

1. Open a browser and type the router's IP address in the URL field. The default is http://192.168.0.1.
2. Enter the username and password to access the router (The username is Admin, the password is password, unless you changed it from the default).

3. From the menu on the left, click Wireless Settings.
4. Select Mode > Auto 108 Mbps.
5. Click Apply to save your changes.

 

To Configure the WG311T or the WG511T Adapter

1. Make sure the NETGEAR wireless adapter is properly installed and the wireless utility is running.
2. Open the wireless utility and click Advanced Settings.

3. For Wireless Mode, check appropriate wireless mode. The example shows all modes selected, allowing the adapter to connect to whichever speed is the highest available on the network.
4. Click OK, then Apply to save your changes.
