How Do I Locate and Clone my MAC Address?

Windows 98/95/ME

1.      Click on the Start menu, and then click on the Run option.

2.      The “Run” window will appear.  In the Open field, type in winipcfg, and click OK.

3.      The “IP Configuration” window will appear.  In this window, click the gray box with a black arrow pointing down.  A list of adapters will appear.  Please select the adapter that you use to connect to the Internet.  This should not be PPP, PPP VPN connection, AOL adapter, or AOL Dial up adapter.

4.      Please make note of the “Adapter Address” and proceed to “Configuring the Router” section of this article.

Windows NT/2000/XP

1.      Click on the Start menu, and then click on the Run option.

2.      The “Run” window will appear. In the Open field type in cmd and click “OK

3.      After typing that in, a “Command prompt” will appear. Type in the words:  ipconfig /all next to the C:\> prompt.

4.      Please make note of the “Physical Address” which relates to the local area connection that controls your Ethernet card

Configuring the Router

1.      Go to your desktop and double click on the Internet Explorer icon (located on ”Start” menu under Windows XP).

2.      In the “Address” field type in http://192.168.1.1 and click “Go

3.      The “Setup” area should appear. Click the Advanced tab on the right side.

4.      You will arrive at the “Filters” tab. Click on the “MAC Addr. Clone” tab.

5.      After the “MAC Address Clone” area loads, input the “Adapter Address” or “Physical Address” that you made note of previously. 

6.      Click the Apply button, then Continue.

7.      Shut down your computer. 

8.      Unplug the power cord from the router, then unplug the power cord from your Cable or DSL modem. 

9.      Wait for about one minute, then plug the power cord back into your Cable or DSL modem, and wait for the lights to stop blinking. 

10. After the modems LED’s stop blinking, power up the router, then start your computer and you should be ready to go.
