How to set a Static IP in Mac OS X:

Step 1 Go to the Apple Menu and select System Preferences.

Step 2 Click on Network.

Step 3 Select Built-in Ethernet in the Show pull-down menu.

Step 4 Select Manually in the Configure pull-down menu.

Step 5 Input the Static IP address, the Subnet Mask, and the Router IP address (Default gateway) in the appropriate fields.

Step 6 Click Apply Now.

Step 2 Select Control Panels

Step 3 Select TCP/IP

Step 4 A window should pop up with TCP/IP settings

Step 5 Select "Connect via Ethernet Slot 0" or "Built in Ethernet"

Step 6 Under Setup select "Configure Using DHCP Server". DHCP Client ID can be set to anything

Step 7 Close the window and select Save
